Shooting Sport
Shooting is a precision sport that tests an individual’s focus, discipline, control, and mental strength. Originating in Europe during the 15th century, the sport has evolved into a highly competitive international discipline and has been part of the Olympic Games since the Athens 1896 Olympics.
Today, shooting is governed globally by the International Shooting Sport Federation, which standardizes rules, equipment, and competitions across the world
In India, shooting has grown rapidly over the past two decades, producing world-class athletes and Olympic medalists. The sport is regulated nationally by the National Rifle Association of India, which oversees competitions, training, and athlete development across the country.

The District Rifle Association of Kollam (DRAK) is the official governing body responsible for the promotion and development of shooting sports within Kollam district.
DRAK operates under the affiliation of the Kerala State Rifle Association and is recognized by the National Rifle Association of India.
